Distribute your sounds at Dibsteur in 5 easy steps
Thanks to Dibsteur, you can create a new distribution in just a few clicks and put your tracks online to reach an ever-wider audience.
Just follow this guide in 5 easy steps to distribute your sound quickly.
Step 1: Create a new distribution and set up the basic information
Click "Create a new distribution".
Select the style and language of your distribution.
Add your project's cover art:
The required format is 3000x3000 in JPG.
You can use online tools like Image Converter Lab to resize your image.
Important for explicit tracks: a Parental Advisory logo is required.
Only certain text is allowed on the cover art (your artist name, the names of featuring artists, and the project title).
Click "Next" to move on to the next step.
Step 2: Customize your copyright
Copyright Customization (optional):
Click "Copyright Customization" to edit the C-Line and P-Line. By default, your artist name is displayed.
For previously published projects (optional):
If you've already released this project through another distributor and the project is no longer online, click "Previously Published Project".
You'll need to provide the UPC, the original release date, and the ISRC of each track.
If your project is still online, it's better to choose the "Import a distribution from Spotify" option on the home page.
Click "Next" to move on to the next step.
Step 3: Upload your track and fill in the metadata
Uploading the audio file:
Click "Upload" to put your track online in WAV format (2 stereo channels, 16-24 bit depth, minimum frequency of 44.1 kHz, minimum duration of 2 seconds).
For a single you previously distributed with Dibsteur that you want to add to an album or EP, click "Select a track". That way, your stats and other data will be synced.
Fill in the metadata:
Click on the title of the added track to open the "Information", "Additional Information", and "Contributors" menus.
In "Information", indicate whether the track is explicit, non-explicit, or censored. Also select the "Track preview start" option to set the preview (useful for TikTok and other free platforms).
In "Additional Information":
Version: indicate whether it's a Remix, a Bonus Track, etc.
ISRC: leave the field empty to have an ISRC generated automatically, or fill it in yourself. If the track was previously released on the platforms, it's essential to indicate it.
Lyrics: enter the track's lyrics (for now, they're only shared with Apple Music; for distribution on other platforms, enter them on Musixmatch after the release).
In "Contributors":
Edit the credits, making sure to enter real names (First Name Last Name format) for the "Authors" and "Composers" fields.
You can use stage names in the Main artists, Featured artists, and Production & Engineering fields.
Add a license if you used an instrumental or other elements like samples that don't fully belong to you.
Click "Next" to move on to the next step.
Step 4: Select the platforms and set the release date
- Make sure to select YouTube Content ID and the social networks (Facebook/Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat) only if you hold exclusive rights to all the elements of the instrumental.
Select a release date:
The dates in green are the soonest possible dates.
Set the time zone and custom time for the distribution from this screen. Note that Apple Music doesn't support special times: on that platform, the release will always happen at midnight.
Step 5: Submit your distribution
Click "Submit" to send your distribution to our teams.
Validation: our teams will check that everything is in order within 48 hours during business days.
By following these 5 steps, you now have everything you need to quickly distribute your sound at Dibsteur.
This guided process lets you focus on what matters most: creating and sharing your music.
Welcome to the journey!
